Helping carers to stay in employment
On average 7 working carers leave employment every week. We think that is unacceptable.
If you are a carer and you are struggling to stay in employment, we can give you help and support to stay in your job, and if needed talk to your employer and provide them with support on how they help you.
Make a referral
It is easy to contact SOHAS, whether you want some advice from the Work and Health Service, support or want to refer an employee for an Occupational Health Assessment.

How does the service work?
The Working Carers Service provides help and support for carers in two ways:
Support to carers to get them into employment by providing a comprehensive service that is tailored around their needs and aspirations on getting a job.
Providing long term support to employers who employ a carer through the service, this could include helping with onboarding the carer, providing knowledge and advising on how to implement the right kind of help to ensure the carer makes a successful start to their job.
